Great, especially if you want to imitate the feel of genuine black chalk of the old masters. Too bad the tone of this one is brownish, not blueish like real black chalk (I'm a long time natural black chalk user).Weaknesses - a minor feeling of waxiness (but extremely minor, can be tolerated), pencil refuses to write on surfaces that were touched or erased multiple times.Why can't art supply people get it right? Why can't they make a synthetic version of black chalk, the medium that was used so universally from the very start of drawing on paper till the 1800s? We, the modern technology people who can travel in space, under water, etc. are deprived of the simplest and best drawing medium in existence!
