More firm than your typical color pencils but not as resilient as graphite.Sharpens well, but doesn't hold point for long.Does smudge, but manageably.Isn't waterproof; it is mostly, however loose pigment will run with water. A quick run over with a kneeded eraser limits this risk.Technically erasable; it doesn't erase well, but if your strokes are light you can probably lift them with a polymer eraser. If your strokes are embedded in the paper, the mark is made and you must live with it.Good as a non-bleeding highlighter, as a simple coloring medium, and as a finisher for colored line work.It's a poor choice for preliminary lineart, drafting, calligraphy, or prolonged writing. (Due to poor erasability)I personally use them for lineart prior to watercolor, after picking up the loose pigment with a kneeded eraser, it doesn't tend blend much with water.I use the browns most.The white is especially brittle, and I find it useless.Photo attached are labeled as packaged; several of the names are less than accurate and misspelled.
